Islamorada's own Coach Susie Jannach was recently named the 2016 USPTA Tennis Professional of the Year for District 19. The award was presented to Coach Susie at the annual USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) Annual Convention in Orlando June 1-5.

According to Jim Morton, USPTA District 19 President and Director of Tennis at Ocean Reef, Coach Susie earned the award for her outstanding contribution to the sport in her local community by organizing and directing many new tennis programs at Founder’s Park. Some of her programs include a women’s travel tennis team, famous tennis boot camps, seasonal leagues, Triples tournaments and more!

“This award validates my hard work and commitment these last few years to introduce tennis into our community. The support from my players challenge me to keep raising the bar every practice session, fitness regime and special events,” explained Coach Susie.

Coach Suie co-owns Tiki Tennis, Inc. with Coach Greg Pearson and together they manage all tennis activities for the Village of Islamorada at Founder’s Park.

This summer, Coach Susie will be busy offering her award-winning instruction at the Tiki Tennis Summer Tennis Camp at Founder’s Park for kids and adults aged 6-90. She and Coach Greg will host numerous weekly sessions throughout the summer.   Sign up and more information is available at the Pool Office at Founder's Park.
